This gear can be collected once a week from the Equipment Store Room. An email will be sent to the server to advise of pick-up and drop-off time for equipment. Alternatively, if you need to borrow some gear, send the Equipment Officer an [email]. As with everything in the club, this store is run by volunteers from the committee - please help ensure they have time to enjoy the outdoors too. The Store is located in the Main Sports Hall at the UWA Recreation Centre. The Store is halfway down the right hand side of the Sports Hall as you walk in. The store area is to the left, in a room full of lockers. Access to the Equipment Store Room is through the Equipment Officer [email].

Kayaking

Currently our fleet of boats numbers 18, this includes a wide variety covering everything from the very short play boats to the very long sea kayaks. If you would like access to the kayaking gear, please contact the Kayaking Officer [email]. We also have all of the associated safety gear:

  • paddles
  • PFD's (Personal Flotation Devices)
  • spray decks
  • air bags
  • helmets
  • anchors
  • pumps
  • throw ropes

How much does it cost to use gear from the Club?

  • Paddling and Windsurfing on the Swan River - no cost!
  • Rock climbing - $5/day
  • Whitewater paddling - $5/day
  • Whitewater paddling (Collie River) - $10/day
  • Sea Kayaking - $5/10 day

All other gear, around $2-$10/day. We have introduced a 'gold' and 'silver' card for members. Gold cards are $100 for 12 months gear usage and Silver cards are $60 for 6 months gear usage. These cards entitle you to free gear usage for the first $20 per trip and 50 % off extra charges per trip. Note that this is only with respect to club gear usage fees and does not include any other costs associated with trips (i.e. petrol money, entry fees etc.). For more info on these cards, just get in contact with any of the committee members. Whether you pay the gear usage fees or buy yourself a gold or silver card, you'll be getting an absolute bargain.
