FAQ for New Members

What is the club about?

The UWA Outdoor Club has been established to provide people with great opportunities to get outdoors, try new adventure activities, meet great people and generally have a fantastic time. It sounds like one of those classic cliches, but so many club members keep commenting that getting involved with the Outdoor Club has really changed their lives - new adventures, new people and great times. The Outdoor Club is definitely not limited to students, anybody with a good sense of fun and adventure is welcome. The majority of members in the club are university graduates in the 20-40 age bracket. The UWA Outdoor Club is not a commercial business and does not have any paid staff members. We are a group of people who are passionate about getting outdoors and enjoying life!

How does the club cater for new members?

The Club continually tries to make new members feel welcome. One of the real positives of the club is being able to get people into outdoor adventure activities that they have never tried before, whether it be paddling, windsurfing, climbing, mountain biking or anything else. Provided that you're happy to go along with the club's general philosophy of everybody being easy-going and helping out, we'll more than happily share our experience, skills and teach you the basics. The club doesn't only cater for beginners, more experienced outdoor adventurists are always welcome too. You'll find plenty of like-minded and enthusiastic people in the club who are always keen for trips to new places and new adventures.

To join up with the club, there's a few easy ways:

What does it cost to join?

Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of joining, so you don't have to wait until the new year to join up. The fees are listed on our current membership form.

Is membership available for less than 12 months?

If you're in Perth for less than 12 months, you're more than welcome to join up with the Outdoor Club and take part in many adventurous and fun outdoor activities. Unfortunately due to insurance and other benefits, the club is unable to offer a reduced membership price for periods less than 12 months.
