My name is Kristy, I am 23 yrs old. I would like to get into adventure racing but am a complete beginner. I need to build my fitness and skills up, I'm interested in doing the Anaconda race next year.

None of my friends are interested in this sort of thing so I'd like to make some friends with similar interests. I would like to meet a couple of people (guys/girls mid-late 20's) who are either in the same boat as me (all starting out) or some people who will have some patience and let me train with them as I get to the same level.

If you think you might be interested just drop me a line at kristymartin@westnet.com.au or reply to his thread.

Cheers,
Kristy

Hi Kirsty,

Hope you have had some luck finding training partners.

A good way to get into Adventure Racing is through the Urban Max series which is coming to Perth for the first time on May 23rd.

Urban Max is a rat race style event around the city centre using brain power and public transport as much as fitness. This will be a great even for first timers being fairly short (3-6 hours), not requiring a mountain bike or any other specialist equipment and being right here in the city.

More details here:

If you enjoy this look out for the Teva race in July which would be a good next step.

Hi Loz, I am still interested in training. I gave up on this website becuase no one seemed interested, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Are you interested in doing some mountain biking once a fortnight on Saturdays? I'm trying to get a group together to do this regularly. Also I'm meeting some people at the casino carpark to go running along the river Mondays 7pm (first session is this Monday). Do you want to join us? I'd be interested in the Urban Max race. Let me know if you are planning on doing it. My email is [email] , let me know if you are interested in anything I have suggested or if you want to do something else. Cheers Kristy

Hi all. I think I've just emailed most of you. My name is Kreig (pronounced Craig), and I'm keen to get into adventure racing. I'm currently training for the Perth City to Surf marathon, and will run the Perth half marathon in two weeks in preparation. I'm currently training 15-20 hours a week - running, gym etc. I'm about to buy a decent mountain bike and kayak. I'm not a student at UWA - I'm in the Navy. However, I'm struggling to find anyone interested in these sorts of things. Feel free to email at: [email] or [email]
Even if everyone has lost interest and just wants to do fun physical activities on a regular basis, I'm keen. I'm free most weekends and evenings for training/activities etc. Hope to hear from you.
